Richard J. Cramer, Sr.
Dick Cramer entered the sheet metal industry in 1957 for a summer job and made it a lifelong career. In 1997, he was named the SMACNA contractor of the year.
In addition to serving two terms on the SMACNA Board of Directors, Dick’s involvement in SMACNA spans over thirty five years and includes serving on numerous committees, task forces and trusts.
Currently, he is SMACNA’s immediate past president, a member of the College of Fellows, and is SMACNA’s representative on the Construction Users Roundtable (CURT).
He holds a bachelors in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, a masters in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University and is a registered professional engineer.
Dick’s father, Dee Cramer, founded Dee Cramer incorporated, in 1937, and served as SMACNA president from 1954 to 1955. The $33-million company is a third generation sheet metal firm of which Dick is chairman. His sons, Rich and Matt, now own the business and serve on SMACNA committees as well.
The company services industrial, commercial and residential clients and has offices in Holly, Wixom and Lansing Michigan.
