Jay Potesta

Business Manager, Financial Secretary/Treasurer, SMWIA Local 20

Since 1994, Jay Potesta has served as the Business Manager, Financial Secretary/Treasurer. Prior to that, he was the Business Representative for the Gary Area.

Mr. Potesta is the Vice President of Indiana State Building Trades Council and the Vice President of Indiana State AFL-CIO. He holds several positions within the Sheet Metal Community such as President of the Great Lakes States Council of Sheet Metal Workers, Appointed to the Siding & Decking Standing Committee by the International Association, Trustee of the Gary Area Pension Fund, Trustee of the Indianapolis Area Pension Fund, Trustee of the Statewide Health & Welfare Fund and Trustee of the Statewide Joint Apprenticeship & Training Trust.

He received B.A. from Vandercook College in Music Education and an A.S. from Indiana University in Labor Studies.
