President/Business Manager of SMW Local Union No. 104

Mr. Word completed apprenticeship training in Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association Local Union No. 216 in 1979 (which covered Contra Costa, Alameda, Napa & Solano Counties). He worked as a member in good standing for SMW Local Unions 216 and 104 until July, 1994.

Mr. Word served as a Trustee of SMW Local Union 104 from 1992 to 1994. From July, 1994 until December, 1999, he served as a Business Representative of SMW Local Union 104 covering the jurisdictions of Alameda & Contra Costa Counties.

Currently, he is serving as President/Business Manager of SMW Local Union No. 104. Local 104’s jurisdiction serves 17 counties of Northern California, with approximately 7,500 members. Mr. Word is also the fourth General Vice President of SMWIA and the President of the Western States Council of Sheet Metal Workers.
