Keynote Speaker: Mark Breslin
Nationally recognized speaker, trainer and facilitator Mark Breslin will take center stage helping labor and management face their individual challenges and create practical solutions that work back home.
The economic climate has created a number of challenges for the union sheet metal industry. Both labor and management are at the crossroads of making some strategic changes in how we do business. A responsive labor-management relationship will make the going a lot easier. To truly succeed we need the leaders in our industry, Business Managers, Agents, Contractors, Chapter Executives, Apprentices and JATC Coordinators - all to participate—to hear and be heard. The more voices we have the better.
Giving Apprentices a Head Start on Success!
We’ve invited the apprentices who are iTi Unified Contestants to attend the 2010 Partners in Progress Conference and here is why: They have demonstrated the drive and dedication to excel. They have the potential to be the future leaders of our industry.
Sure, they are talented but being a good leader in our industry requires more than just being a skilled craftsman. It requires an understanding of the industry as a whole and the importance of the partnership between union and contractor. They must acquire management and leadership skills that will enable them to rise up and assume responsibilities.
Special sessions designed specifically to address questions apprentices may have about the industry and leadership are being offered. Additionally, this dynamic program will provide the apprentices with the opportunity to network with current industry leaders; learn about market share realities and emerging growth markets; and participate in strategic planning on issues facing their area. Our future leaders input are vital to the success of our industry.
This is a unique opportunity for current industry leaders to groom these apprentices into higher levels of competency while instilling in them the value of partnership.
Listen to what Mark Breslin has to say about our apprentices and their potential here and here.
