Raymond Diaz
Raymond N. Diaz started his Sheet Metal apprenticeship with Local 49 in 1983. He transferred his membership to Local Union 68, Dallas, Texas, where he completed the apprenticeship program in 1988. Raymond worked in the Dallas area for several years until 1992. He then transferred back to Local 49, and was elected to the E-board in 1995. He served through 1998. Raymond was appointed as full time Local Union Organizer for the Southern New Mexico and El Paso, Texas area. He was elected Vice President in 2000 and reelected in 2001. Ray was elected to the position of Business Manager / Financial Secretary Treasurer effective October 1, 2005 and re-elected in June 2007. September of 2009 Ray was chosen as a delegate for the SMWIA / AFLCIO, the conference was held in Pittsburgh, PA.
