Market Recovery: A Whole New World?
Trainer & Facilitator
When market recovery means entering a new market for contractors and labor, it brings with it unique challenges. Michael Gaffney, will explain why this type of market recovery is particularly hard. Through an interactive discussion with attendees, including areas who are already engaging in market recovery efforts, he will address how areas can expand their market recovery workforce through expansion of existing contractors (building new business line), organizing previously non-union contractors, and building new contractors from the ranks of membership.
Mr. Gaffney, who taught at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, has teamed with SMACNA and SMART to work with local parties in developing meaningful labor relations and improved bargaining relationships for over two decades.
