Market Recovery Funds: Can We Buy Our Way to Market Recovery?
Trainer & Facilitator
This session will explore the many ways to financially support market recovery. Whether that be through a local target program, equity fund, loan program, or other means, Michael Gaffney will discuss the pros and cons of each, as well as what local areas should consider when determining what is best for their area. Drawing on the real-life experience of those in attendance, this interactive session will explore all the ways a local area might utilize its financial resources to be successful in keeping markets that may be threatened by non-union competition and how to recover those that have been lost.
Mr. Gaffney, who taught at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, has teamed with SMACNA and SMART to work with local parties in developing meaningful labor relations and improved bargaining relationships for over two decades.
