PINP 2020

The Strive to Succeed Challenge is a friendly competition between local areas. We are asking each area (local SMART unions, SMACNA chapters and their contractors) to engage with Partners in Progress, build their labor-management relationship, and delve into the needs and opportunities of their local market.

Phase 1

Areas who complete the required number of tasks in each of the four segments listed below will receive $1,000 to use towards marketing in their local area. (Note: Each area will need to submit evidence of task completion)

SMART local union and SMACNA chapter complete any four  of the following:

  • Have at least one representative from each organization attend and review 8 conference sessions.
  • Have at least one representative from each organization send photos of the onsite conference charity project.
  • As a group, work jointly on, and submit via email the exercise at the regional breakout session.
  • Have at least one representative from each organization post on social media using the hashtags #pinp2020 and #AllintoSucceed
  • As a group, share at least one meal together and submit via email photos of the group meal.
  • Meet jointly during the conference to discuss local issues and submit via email photos of group meeting along with list of topics discussed.
 After the Conference

Phase 2

Each area (local SMART unions, SMACNA chapters and their contractors) develops the goals identified in the first phase and creates a longer-term plan of action. Areas who develop one of the plans below and provide a copy to the Partners in Progress team will receive an additional $2,000 to use towards marketing in their local area.

 Build a Plan

SMART local union and SMACNA chapter complete one of the following and submit via email.

  • Make an application for an ITI training grant
  • Develop a digital marketing plan
  • Negotiate a market recovery agreement
  • Create/update a recruitment and retention plan
  • Develop a joint labor-management strategic plan
