 | | Local News covers SMACNA-SMWIA issues | SMWIA Locals in Florida have shined light on issues related to unfair business practices, such as hiring foreign or undocumented workers on job sites in place of qualified and trained members of the local community, via a local media outlet. Making use of established media resources is an excellent way to level the playing field and make possible expansion of markets for SMACNA contractors and their SMWIA workforce. Especially important in such efforts is taking the initiative to ensure that the SMACNA-SMWIA team is able to play a part in shaping the types of stories that reach the media and the slant those stories take.
