Organizations often expect younger workers to engage with the union, their contractor and industry information in the same way that older generations do. However, that ignores the profound changes to and advancement of technology over their lifetimes. Technology has become an integral part of our normal daily life and none more so than for younger workers.

This session will address best practices for not only communicating with younger workers effectively but capitalizing on your efforts so as to engage younger workers in our industry’s success leading to their retention in the industry going forward.

Kyle Tibbs, MPA, SHRM-CP
SMACNA St. Louis

Kyle Tibbs is the current Executive Vice President of SMACNA St. Louis, serving in the position since early 2019. Kyle started his career with SMACNA as the Recruitment and Membership Director for SMACNA Mid-Atlantic in 2018. Before SMACNA, Kyle spent many years working with local governments in West Virginia, Georgia, and Maryland. Kyle holds a Masters of Public Administration from Pennsylvania (Penn) State University and a Bachelors in Political Science from Marshall University. Additionally, Tibbs is a certified Human Resource Professional through the Society for Human Resource Management, holds an ADA certification from Syracuse University, is certified in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training, and recently became a Human Resource consultant for a small training and consulting firm. Born and raised in Ohio, Tibbs is a passionate college football fan and an avid news junkie.
